4 Reasons Why You Should Have a Personal Trainer

Not sure if you should have a personal trainer? If you have been questioning whether or not having a personal trainer, I've put together 4 reasons why you should:

1. Take the guess work out of your workouts.

Let's face it - you already have to make so many decisions during your day. Deciding what to do with your workout is not at the top of the list. You could google a generic workout, but that always requires making adjustments for the equipment that you have available for you or modifying to your skill level. A personal trainer will design your workout to be aligned to your needs and abilities, and can modify anything that you are not enjoying or is not working for you in real time. Your personal trainer can keep track of your progress over time and help you pick the right weights so that you can progressively overload and get stronger week over week.

2. Learn the correct form.

There are so many exercises out there - Bulgarian split squats, lunges, squats, pull ups, chin ups, rows, lat pull downs, deadlifts, Romanian deadlifts, and so on! - how do you even know the difference between them, much less know if you're doing them correctly? You can expect your trainer to give you cues and correct your movements if you're not hitting the mark. This helps give you the confidence to try something new without fear of hurting yourself or not targeting the right muscles.

3. Understand your strengths and deficiencies (and how to improve your deficiencies!).

Have you ever felt like one arm is stronger than the other? Or one leg is more flexible than the other? Your personal trainer will notice these imbalances too. They will provide strategies for working to close those gaps. Have you ever felt like you can lift heavy with your squats but you're lacking the range of motion? Your trainer can help you build flexibility and improve your range of motion. In short, your trainer is here to help you get the most out of your workouts with the best form and to be the best version of yourself.

4. Have your own personal cheerleader!

I cant speak for all trainers, but I know I want to see my clients succeed. On the bad days, I am here to prop you up and provide the support you need to get a workout in. I will modify your workout for you so that you can leave the session feeling good about getting movement in and not like you have punished yourself for not wanting to do it that day. On the good days, I get just excited as you do (maybe more!) about achieving milestones and goals that we've set. I will be there every step of the way cheering you on as you strive to achieve more and more from yourself.
